Select Soccer – Week of October 9

A few reminders:

  • We are nearly at $1,500 in our fundraiser with just over two weeks left. Keep sharing the link on your social channels as well, together we can reach our goal of $5,000!
  • Registration for Select Soccer Season 2 is now open. Please see the email I sent (also copied below) with full details or visit the Select Soccer web page.
  • If your child will be missing training sessions over the Fall Break its a great idea to have them touching their ball as much as possible. Here are some basic and intermediate footwork drills to keep them active and help them to keep improving their touch.
  • Please try to have your child arrive on time for practice. These last couple of weeks we have had several kids showing up 10-15 minutes late which makes it difficult for coaches to begin their sessions. Thank you!

  • Small Group Time: 6:00-6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

  • Wear training shirt

Select Soccer Season 2 Information

Registration for Season 2 of Select Soccer is open and details are up on our website >
Some details to highlight that differ from our first season:
  • League Play (no longer FC Arizona)
    • U11-U14 – ASA Open League
    • U9-U10 – ASA Youth Academy League
  • Fees
    • Registration Fee: $50 (I will waive this for all returning players, just email me and I’ll provide you with a code)
    • Season 2 Team Dues: $500
      Our dues are about 1/2 of most Arizona Clubs and I want to be as transparent with you as possible on where the dues go:

      • Team dues go toward field rentals for practice and games, ASA league registration and referees, coaches stipend, equipment, training shirts (2 for each child), tournament fees and fees paid to Paladin for insurance, marketing, operations etc.
      • Team dues can be paid over 4 months (Jan – Apr)
      • Uniform costs are not included in the Team Dues
      • We will have fundraising opportunities to reduce your cost
  • Practice Location for Season 2 will move to Mon/Wed at Desert Mountain Park. Practice times will be between 5:30 – 8:30 pm depending on the team/coach/age.

I’ll be at the information tent at Mountain Vista Academy from 10am – noon on October 7, 14 and November 4.
