HC: Hillarie Lopez
Coach Hill is happily married to her best friend, Miguel (“Miggo”), and is a proud mom to her two-year-old daughter, Lilo. Born and raised in Austin, Texas, she moved to Arizona in 2018 to attend Grand Canyon University (Lopes Up!).
Coach Hill picked up her first softball at the age of five and never put it down. After an outstanding high school career—where her jersey number was retired—she went on to play collegiate softball at Hardin-Simmons University, earning NCAA Player of the Year honors and serving as the team’s starting first baseman. Following graduation, she transitioned seamlessly into coaching, continuing her love for the game by investing in the next generation of athletes. While this is her first season with Paladin, she brings three years of coaching experience to the program.
Grounded in a strong Christian upbringing, Coach Hill’s values align deeply with Paladin’s mission. She understands what it means to compete as a Christian athlete and the responsibility that comes with using sports as a platform to glorify God. She is passionate about developing athletes, building confidence, and helping young players grow both on and off the field.
HC: Erin Cockrell
Coach Cockrell brings more than 24 years of coaching experience, combining leadership, player development, and competitive athletics across multiple levels of sport. Coach Cockrell graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing.
After beginning his coaching career in football at Live Oak High School in 2002, Coach Cockrell spent nearly two decades coaching at the high school and junior college levels, including roles at West Valley College and San Jose City College. His experience included defensive coordination, game-day strategy, position development, and mentoring student-athletes in highly competitive environments.
In 2019, Coach Cockrell began coaching fastpitch softball at the recreational level before transitioning into travel softball in 2020. Since then, he has coached athletes across multiple age divisions, including both 12U and 14U club softball from 2023–2025.
Coach Cockrell is passionate about athlete development, team culture, and helping players grow both on and off the field. As a father of three daughters competing within the Paladin organization — from T-ball through 16U club softball — he understands the importance of creating a positive, competitive, and family-focused environment for athletes.

HC: Mike Westfall
Coach Mike is a dedicated husband and father of three who has been a staple on the softball and baseball diamonds for over 15 years. His deep-rooted passion for the game began long before his coaching career; Mike played four years of collegiate baseball at the University of Utah.
Bringing a wealth of experience to the 14U program, Coach Mike’s philosophy is built on the pillars of positivity, hustle, and hard work. He believes that while team camaraderie is a starting point, hard work and dedication are what define an athlete. His goal is to create a high-energy environment where players feel encouraged to challenge themselves, refine their skills, and develop the resilience needed for competitive play.
Mike is incredibly excited to join the Paladin family and looks forward to the unique opportunity of coaching his daughter, Chloe, at the 14U level. He is fully committed to the Paladin mission of transforming the culture of sports, helping his players grow into confident leaders both on the field and in their daily lives.
HC: Dan Powe
Dan and his Wife Lisa have been in AZ for almost 19 years and have been a part of Paladin sports outreach off and on for the better part of their time here from coaching basketball, tee ball, playing men’s softball to managing his daughter Paetyn’s 14U club softball team. He looks forward to coaching throughout her youth. From Southern California Dan grew up on the Baseball diamond and the Basketball courts playing and coaching many years. “I believe having Christ the center of youth sports encourages kids to lead a faith-based life beyond sports and into adulthood, I look forward to stepping on the diamond each and every day with this group of girls.”
