Paladin Sports Outreach Launches in the West Valley with Free Youth Soccer Clinic
A free soccer clinic in Goodyear will introduce families to Paladin Sports West Valley and its Christ-centered approach to youth sports.
Paladin Sports Outreach is expanding into Arizona’s West Valley, beginning in Goodyear and welcoming families from Litchfield Park, Buckeye, Avondale, and surrounding communities.
To celebrate the launch, Paladin will host a free soccer clinic for boys and girls ages 3–8 on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 3:00–4:30 p.m. at Goodyear Rec Center. The afternoon will give children a chance to try soccer, meet new friends, and get to know the Paladin team.
Bringing Paladin to the West Valley
Since its founding in 2008, Paladin Sports Outreach has used sports to connect children and families with Jesus Christ and the local church. Through positive coaching and intentional relationships, Paladin helps young athletes grow in skill, character, and confidence.
The West Valley launch carries that mission into a new community. Goodyear will serve as the starting point, with a desire to build relationships and reach families throughout the surrounding area.
For local families, the clinic is an easy way to meet the people behind Paladin and experience its emphasis on Faith, Family, and Fun.
Meet Derek and Lauren Diesner
Leading Paladin Sports West Valley are Area Directors Derek and Lauren Diesner, who bring complementary experience in community engagement, education, and serving families.
Derek is a Western Illinois University journalism graduate with a professional background in communications and community engagement with the City of Glendale. Lauren brings more than 16 years of experience in education and behavioral health, including work as a special education teacher, administrator, educational leader, and inpatient therapist.
As parents of four, the Diesners understand the opportunities everyday experiences provide to help children develop kindness, resilience, confidence, and a heart for others. Through Paladin, they are bringing that perspective to a ministry that uses sports to build relationships and share the love of Christ.
Free Soccer Clinic for Kids Ages 3–8
The launch clinic welcomes beginners and children who already enjoy soccer. Paladin coaches and volunteers will lead activities that help young players learn, participate, and have fun in an encouraging environment.
