Dear Parents,

Despite our best efforts, we have not had enough children register for our Winter Youth Basketball program and therefore we will have to cancel the program. I am very disappointed to have had to cancel this program but feel it is in the best interest of everyone — with so few children registered (at all age levels) we don’t have the resources or participation necessary to run a quality recreational sports program.

If you did register we will be processing refunds the week of December 5th. If you paid online, those refunds will come directly from PayPal back to the card or account you paid with, it should take less than 5 business days.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and please apologize for us to your children as I know they were looking forward to playing basketball this Winter.

This Summer we will be organizing a free 4-week basketball clinic here in San Tan Valley to try and build some momentum for our Winter program, we hope that you will join us. Please look for more details on our website this Spring.

Thank you for your understanding and for your support of Paladin Sports Outreach. Should you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Jason Best

Dodgeballapalooza is what you get when you take a youth sports organization which has a passion for benefiting kids with the ability to play sports at low cost, and add an outreach to kids who have been caught in the sex trafficking industry.

For the third year, Paladin Sports in San Tan Valley, Arizona will be hosting an annual fundraiser to benefit StreetLight Phoenix, an aftercare facility for girls who have been rescued from forced prostitution. This sports event, Dodgeballapalooza, is a series of Dodgeball tournaments for youth and adults with a donation drive to bring resources to StreetLight and Paladin. This event is a win-win for all parties. The community has fun playing ball together, money is raised and supplies are donated to aid survivors of sex slavery, and equipment is donated for more sports activities. The best part is the games will be played indoors instead of in the Arizona heat.

Dear Friends of Paladin Sports Outreach,

As you may know, Chase launched an innovative giving program for small and local charities. Through Chase Community Giving, participants are able to vote to help determine which small and local non profits will receive donations of $5 million from Chase’s philanthropy funds this spring.

The spring 2011 round of the Chase Community Giving program is designed to benefit smaller and local charities by being limited to 501c3 charities with operating expenses between $1 and $10 million. The Top 100 eligible charities with the most votes receive $25,000 during Round 1. During Round 2, the eligible charity with the most votes receives $500,000 and the remaining 24 top charities earn $20,000 through $400,000 awards. More than $5 million dollars will be distributed through the spring program. Chase is putting resources where communities throughout the United States need them most, and it is up to us to garner enough votes so that Paladin Sports Outreach can be one of the winning organizations.

You have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for the future of our organization. This spring’s program runs through May 4th – now is the time to cast your vote and spread the word about this opportunity to your friends and family and encourage them to support our cause. With a portion of Chase corporate philanthropy dollars, we will have the chance to further our mission of serving children in our communities through sports with an emphasis on responsibility, respect, teamwork, and physical fitness.

It is more important than ever that we take advantage of the amazing opportunity this program presents to our organization. Use the tiny URL below to log on to Chase Community Giving to cast your vote and share the program with our supporters across Arizona. You decide what matters, and every vote counts!

American Family Insurance to present BE BIG Community Grant to Jason Best

This Saturday morning 160 San Tan Valley children will arrive at J.O. Combs Traditional Academy to kick-off Paladin Sports Outreach’s Spring T-ball season and they will be joined by a special guest, Clifford, the Big Red Dog!

Clifford and American Family Insurance agent Ty Schraufnagel will be on hand to present a check to Paladin Sports Outreach’s president Jason Best. Jason and his team were awarded one of 19 Second Prize community grants from the BE BIG fund for their “big idea”, a sports equipment program.

“Our BIG Idea was to establish a sports equipment program for disadvantaged youth in our community,” said Jason. “We are calling this program, ‘Play It Forward’ and the main goal is to acquire new and gently used sports equipment and apparel and distribute it to needy families in our community. The donations of new and gently used sporting equipment will enable kids in our community to enjoy local sports programs without the additional financial burden of purchasing equipment. We are very thankful to American Family Insurance and Scholastic for helping us to jump-start this program.”

Paladin’s Lil’ Pals program is made up of several low-fee, multi-week instructional sports academies for children ages 3-6. Lil’ Pals Academies provide an opportunity for children to be introduced to the fun and fundamentals of a specific sport in a low-key, positive environment. A variety of sports are offered including, but not limited to t-ball, soccer, basketball, hockey, and more!

The Be Big Fund
The BE BIG Fund has been established to raise awareness for how Clifford’s BIG Ideas can make the world a better place. Scholastic is working with HandsOn Network and American Family Insurance to bring the BE BIG Fund to life in your local community.

More information > http://www.amfam.com/bebig

Paladin Sports Outreach
Paladin Sports Outreach is a 501(c)3, Arizona non profit corporation, established to bring needed sports and recreation programs to under served communities in the San Tan Area. We believe that sports are an incredible vehicle for bringing communities together and for teaching children important life lessons on responsibility, teamwork, and fun!
